The external rotary axis drygear® RL-D from igus is a compact and versatile unit designed to realize defined rotational movements.
The rotary axis is driven electromechanically via a worm gear in combination with a stepper motor. The high transmission ratios available with the worm gear provide self-locking properties, ensuring that the achieved position is held securely even when power is off. This eliminates the need for additional braking or holding systems.
The design consists largely of tribologically optimized high-performance plastics. These enable lubrication-free dry operation and make the rotary axis completely maintenance-free. At the same time, weight and costs are reduced, while achieving a long service life and corrosion-free operation.
Thanks to its compact design, integrated self-locking feature, and maintenance-free construction, the external rotary axis drygear® RL-D is ideally suited for reliable use in demanding industrial applications.
